Book of Daniel - Parts 2 & 3

Transcription

alright welcome back everyone hope
everyone had a wonderful fast and feast
of st. Mary enjoying the praises and the
times of prayer that God gives us
through the church to always revive our
spirits and as we approach actually it's
it's may be planned by by by the wisdom
of God at the end of every Coptic here
the last two Gospels that we read anyone
know what they are what are the last two
Gospels that we read and they're similar
to each other not the same passage but
they're the same theme anybody know the
end of the world and so as we come and
conclude towards the end of the Coptic
year the church is reminding us to
remember number one the end of our lives
and the end of the world and the coming
of Christ to prepare our our minds for
this coming and it goes very very well
with the prophecy of the Book of Daniel
because the Book of Daniel is one of the
prophetic books and today's story is a
story that kind of jumps in the middle
it's just the story of an event in the
life of Daniel and his friends and what
you're going to see is we're going to
try to find out why is it in the book of
prophecy what is the meaning behind it
never ever ever assume that anything in
the Word of God is there just because
like there's no there's no symbolism we
talked about couple weeks ago how Daniel
chapter 1 is about and Daniel is at a
time where he was there from the very
beginning of the captivity and he's
being raised he's living his life
throughout this time of captivity when
the Jews were taken out of the kingdom
of Judah or that yeah the kingdom of
Judah and brought over as captives by
King Nebuchadnezzar something you'll
notice about King Nebuchadnezzar when
you read in the Book of Jeremiah Isaiah
actually the Bible uses him as it says
Nebuchadnezzar my servants
Nebuchadnezzar my servant was never
could neither a good guy or a bad guy
what do we know about him it was a bad
guy Nebuchadnezzar was a bad guy but yet
God refers to him as his servants I
remember there was a kind of a rough
time several years ago that we were
going through here at this church and
and we were and I was reading this
passage and I kept on saying why is God
calling Nebuchadnezzar this bad leader
or this bad person to be why is calling
him his servant and he called him a
servant because he used Nebuchadnezzar
to discipline the people of God to wake
them up to bring them back to the mind
that he wanted them to have they are the
people of God that they should worship
God in a holy way that is deserving and
we talked about how Daniel and his
friends were different and that Daniel
and his friends had a certain condition
that is needed to have the mind of God
what does that mean anybody here want to
know what the will of God is for their
life anybody want to try to figure out
what God is doing maybe in their life or
these days maybe in our country or maybe
an hour in our society and you wonder
where is God in all of this and I'm
trying to understand the things of God
but there's a certain condition that is
needed to be able to understand the mind
of God and we talked about how Daniel
and his friends they chose not to eat of
the delicacies of the king and they
fasted for 10 days and when they were
competing against the other young strong
men to be part of the king's court and
advisers the strongest ones were Daniel
and his friends because they chose not
to eat of the delicacies of the king
they chose not to eat of the delicacies
of the world and because of that God
gave them the ability to in Chapter to
interpret what the dream of what the
dream was of King Nebuchadnezzar so in
chapter 2 King Nebuchadnezzar has a
dream and he doesn't understand it and
it
serves him we talked about this last
week in in in the st. Mary's nada that
he was disturbed he couldn't understand
the dream he asked all the wise
astrologers and magicians and wise
people of the day and he said look I had
a dream I need you to tell me what I
dreamt number one and then number two I
need you to tell me what it meant say
okay you tell me the dream and I could
tell you what it means he says no
because they said no that's too hard it
can't be done instead all right kill all
the wise people of the kingdom so they
started to kill the king the people of
the kingdom and then Daniels told the
the leader of his troop basically saying
just give me some time I will interpret
the King's dream how Daniel how are you
do you know anything about interpreting
dreams have you ever done it before no
I've never done it before well how are
you gonna do this you see Daniel because
he was unique in his day he was unique
in the day that he was living God gave
him to have the mind of God and that's
the goal of the church Daniel is a type
of Christ who revealed the mind of God
to the world but it's also the role of
the church to know the mind of God I
would imagine the church in Syria right
now or the church in Iraq the people are
coming to the church of the saying
somebody tell us where is God there
people are being cast out of the country
they're being murdered by the tens of
thousands and they're coming to the
church for the church to reveal what is
the mind of God today in our country God
knows what's going to happen in a couple
months who is going to be the leader of
our land where what direction our land
is going to go what type of moral
condition is going to be you say okay
where is God what is God trying to do in
all of this and it's meant for us We the
People of God to reveal what is the mind
of God to the world and so did Daniel
interprets the dream
the King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream of a
statute the a statue with four different
types of metals gold bronze silver iron
and so eventually this image was an
image of four different kingdoms and
there was going to be the time of the
Gentiles but what does that mean the
time of the Gentiles so we talked about
the you know obviously the Babylonian
rain the Roman reign the Greek rain and
so it's an interpretation of the four
different kingdoms that were going to be
taking over from that point every every
like so the gold part of the statue
represented the Babylonian the
Babylonian Empire which was the
strongest and then I got to the weaker
and in the weaker in the weaker it's
talking about this season which the
people who are estranged from God we're
going to be raining and then at the end
you see that the statue ends up getting
crushed and this is a type of Christ so
what happens is Daniel interprets the
dream for Nebuchadnezzar he feels like
Daniel is great I'm just trying to give
you some background and then what he
does Nebuchadnezzar begins to in chapter
2 if you open up your Bibles to chapter
2 it says then King Nebuchadnezzar fell
on his face prostrate before Daniel and
commanded they should present an
offering and incense to him so King
Nebuchadnezzar saying because Daniel did
this great thing come and give him
reverence and pay worship to him and of
course Daniel wasn't at a time where he
could tell the king no no not like it
happened okay and it shows something
that we're going to try to understand
about King Nebuchadnezzar that you're
going to find in maybe possibly yourself
over each chapter three so before that
says Daniel petitioned the King and he
sets a drachma shocked and Abednego over
the affairs of the province of Babylon
but Daniel sat in the gate of the king
all right chapter three Nebuchadnezzar
the King made an image of gold whose
height was sixty cubits and its width
six cubits he set it up in the plane of
Dura in the province of Babylon and King
Nebuchadnezzar sent
to gather together the sad traps the
administrators the governor's the
counselors the treasurer's the judges
the magistrates and all the officials of
the provinces to come to the dedication
of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar
had set up so the sad traps the
administrators the governor's the
counselors the treasures the judges the
magistrates and all the officials of the
provinces gathered together for the
dedication of the image that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up and they stood
before the image that king that
Nebuchadnezzar had set up then a herald
cried aloud to you it is commanded Oh
people nations and languages that at the
time you hear the sound of the horn
flute harp liar and sultry in symphony
with all kinds of music you shall fall
down and worship this gold image that
King Nebuchadnezzar had set up and
whoever does not fall down and worship
shall be cast immediately into the midst
of a burning fiery furnace so at that
time when all the people heard the sound
of the horn flute harp and lyre in
symphony with all kinds of music all the
people nations and language fell down
and worshipped the gold image which King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up here you go
you have the Babylonian Empire was the
Empire of the whole world so when it
talks about people worshipping and mate
you're talking does the whole world is
worship there is nobody in the world
there's nobody in the Empire that is not
worshipping before the king is there
something strange about the beginning of
chapter 3 opening up with King
Nebuchadnezzar building another statue
so King Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 2 had
a dream of a statue and Daniel
interpreted the dream that this dream
represents the kingdom's and how these
kingdoms would be crushed ok by the
coming of a stone in that stone was
Christ himself and here he was like
frightened by the dream is he wanted to
know what was going on when he he was
trying to probably trying to wonder what
was going to happen in his kingdom and
then then interprets it from him and he
is blown away by daniel says Daniel the
god of Daniel and they started like
giving him
reverence what's the problem in the
beginning of this chapter we're here
they are we have another statue you see
there are many people there are many
people who God reveals his will to them
and they don't profit anything from it
there are many people of us that God
reveals his will he revealed his will to
King Nebuchadnezzar and he honored
Daniel and gave him a promotions at all
these wonderful things gave him rewards
but the only thing that it didn't do is
it didn't bring him to repentance or
humble himself in the presence of God he
had no heart for the God that inspired
Daniel isn't that kind of what happens
today so many people they might admire
the teachings of the church they might
admire the Word of God they might admire
like a preaching that comes on Sunday
and you like a certain preacher you like
a certain you know passage in the Bible
and you admire it from the outside but
there is a difference that instead of
being humbled by the Word of God
unfortunately sometimes we have the Word
of God serve even our own agendas we
even can find the word to serve our own
agendas sometimes like you find people
that are saying well God told me this
see well how do you know God told you
them you say no I know I know that God
told me this because God wants this good
thing for my life you say okay that's
great is it possible that maybe God
wants you to go through a tough time is
it possible that maybe God is permitting
for you to go through difficult times
there's no no I want this to serve what
myself that God is going to make me a
great prophet of Israel and God is going
to make me out and it's self-serving
there are so many people today that
their lives don't match the same
reverence that they have for the word of
God like I can highlight my bible and i
can write notes I can even
teach theology I can be an expert in
theology but when it comes to my life
what happens I don't know if I can find
the same strength it reminds me of
another person who was given revelations
in the new test who was given revelation
at the New Testament he saw a revelation
he was able to see the third heaven who
st. Paul so you're thinking of John in
the revelation okay the book of
Revelation that's true but st. Paul said
he was carried to the third heaven so
that he wouldn't be exalted he wouldn't
think very highly of himself now he's
seeing heaven by himself God gave him a
one God gave my wat in his flesh why to
remind him of his human weakness you see
there is a danger and understanding your
coming here in the Bible study maybe
you're highlighting your writing notes
trying to learn more about the word of
god divine truth revealed without
fellowship with God is going to be used
just for puffing up a lot of young
people today they're reading all kinds
of you know theological discourse is
online and they could tell you now all
the deep things of our theology you say
okay but what about living a holy life
say yeah of course like we supposed
leave a hole dad but we're out and we're
cussing out different you know
denominations we're talking to how their
hair it takes it were here we are we're
not doing giving any light to the glory
of Christ everybody now is a defender of
the faith but a defender of the faith is
somebody that lives and walks according
to the faith and shows that this faith
brings fruits that this life brings a
holy life and fruits from it so there is
a danger between knowledge apart from
having a divine love it's just going to
puff up that's exactly what happened to
Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar heard
about the whole statue and he
interpreted the dream next thing that
says all right I'm building a statue and
I bet you the image of the statute look
just like the dream
he used it for his own personal glory
there's a difference between knowledge
and spiritual discernment there's
definitely knowledge and spiritual
discernment spiritual discernment comes
from God spiritual discernment comes
from God when somebody you find many
simple people you find many of our
Saints they're called like the holy
fools you know they would say crazy
things like I wouldn't have to miss you
you know he would say you know I'm gonna
marry your mother he would say all kinds
of weird things okay because in his
simplicity and his simplicity God had
given him discernment of many holy
things and because of that he was trying
to do what he was trying to couple it
with humility and he was trying to
understand what was the will of God but
if you have knowledge without God leads
it can have a very very like corrupted
effect upon your mind and heart all
right you see Nebuchadnezzar is exalted
with pride let's look at the numbers
that we see in chapter 3 verse 1 what
are the sizes of the statue the King
made an image of gold whose height was
60 cubits and its width six cubits he
set it up in the plane of Dura and the
province of Babylon knowing that Daniel
is a prophetic book is there anything
symbolic of those numbers we have 60 and
six give 60 and six where else do we see
like sixes hmm we find in the Book of
Revelations talk about like the the mark
of the beast or the number of the beast
his number will be six six six and six
some commentators say that its tells us
of man's great efforts to attain
perfection so he was it was his own
effort of course perfection is
7 but it's man's great effort to reach
but unfortunately men will never reach
perfection without without Christ
without God himself this is exactly the
same direction so we find already that
Daniel is trying to lead us to a
prophetic mind he's trying to give us a
prophetic understanding of something
much deeper than just the statue and the
size of the statue there's there's a
symbolic reasoning for these numbers and
then we see that everybody was supposed
to bow down before the statue and then
what happens there's three great people
in the whole world who decided they're
not going to pay any heed to the Kings
requests who are they Shadrach Meshach
and Abednego I didn't mention this in
chapter one those are I mentioned it a
little bit but I didn't represent what
it meant you're going to find that
Daniel and the three holy youth you find
their names hanania misha l and Azariah
are changed to babylonian names why
because the king of Babylon represents
the devil is trying to impose on you a
different type of identity it's trying
to tell you that you are not Daniel your
ball to Scherzer and Daniel you start to
see glimpses of his name coming back as
Daniel as Daniel being revealed even
though the world is telling know you're
about to Shazzer your Shadrach Meshach
and Abednego that you are people of
Babel all those are Babylonian names
your people of Babylon they began to say
no matter what you impose on us no
matter how you impose it on us we are
not the people of Babylon today I want
you to ask yourself do you have a
Babylonian name maybe your Babylonian
name is fashion maybe your Babylonian
name is popularity maybe your Babylonian
name is the intelligence of the arts or
of
the world or your Babylonian name is
social media whatever your name is that
the world is trying to impose on you
have you accepted for that to be your
identity you see that's exactly what is
happening to Shadrach Meshach and
Abednego the world is imposing on them
that you will worship this statue as the
statue of hoop it's a statue of the King
for the Emperor so people went and
ratted them out and said look there are
certain people that are not paying
homage to your statute says bring them
to me let's go from verse 12 chapter 3
verse 12 it says there are certain Jews
whom you have set over the affairs of
the province of Babylon Shadrach Meshach
and Abednego these men o king have not
paid due regard to you they do not serve
your gods or worship the gold image
which you have set up let's read this
passage will start from verse 8 sorry
therefore at that time certain Chaldeans
came forward and accused the Jews they
spoken set to King Nebuchadnezzar Oh
King live forever you O king have made a
decree that everyone who hears the sound
of the horn flute harp liar and sultry
and symphony with all kinds of music
shall fall down and worship the gold
image and whoever does not fall down and
worship shall be cast into the midst of
a burning fiery furnace there are
certain Jews whom you have set over the
affairs of the province of Babylon
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego these men
o king have not paid due regard to you
they do not serve your gods or worship
the gold image which you have set up
then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury
gave the command to bring Shadrach
Meshach and Abednego so they brought
these men before the King Nebuchadnezzar
spoke saying to them is it true Shadrach
Meshach and Abednego that you do not
serve my gods or worship the gold image
which I have set up now if you're
already at the time now if you are ready
at the time you hear the sound of the
horn flute harp liar and sultry in
symphony with all kinds of music and you
fall down and worship the image which I
have made good but if you do not worship
you shall be cast immediately
to the midst of a burning fiery furnace
and who is the God who will deliver you
from my hands Shadrach Meshach and
Abednego answered and said to the king
or Nebuchadnezzar we have no need to
answer you in this matter pay attention
to verse 17 if that is the case our God
whom we serve is able to deliver us from
the burning fiery furnace and he will
deliver us from your hand o king but if
not let it be known to your king that we
do not serve your gods nor will we
worship the gold image which you have
said you see a great testimony of these
three whole youth in the midst of the
whole world you say what does this story
have to do with prophecy this is a
prophetic book why do we have a story in
there what is the prophecy that is here
what do you think is the prophecy that
is here this is a neat story it's very
encouraging three holy with it's like
hearing the sanitarium story it's a
great miracle and it's awesome it's
encouraging why is it in the Book of
Daniel this isn't a history book can you
think and I and I talk to you guys I
mentioned that the Book of Daniel is
pointing to the end times what do you
think the small number of the three
whole youth represent you take a guess
in the end times it's representing it's
a prophecy the remnant of people who
will be standing at the time where
Revelation chapter 13 talks about
something called the abomination of
desolation it's this abomination okay
and you find even Jesus talking about it
says and the great abomination of
desolation which is spoken of by the
prophet of Daniel we don't know what
that is but we believe that at the end
times chances are the Antichrist is
going to set up a statue that should be
worshipped by all men whether it's a
physical statue whether it's an idol
whether it's something that is
popular at the end of times that
everybody is bowing down before
culturally and socially and politically
and all levels we don't know what it
means exactly but it's as if the whole
world will be bowing down before this
you want to know who is part of the
whole world the nominal Christians the
Christians by name the Jews by name you
see the Jews are going to follow many of
them going to follow the Antichrist many
of them are going to follow the
Antichrist because he's going to do
signs and wonders and he's going to do
all these wonderful things and it's
going to take place this is going to be
a Jewish man that's what the book tell
the Bible tells us he's gonna be a
Jewish man who's gonna do all these
wonderful things the Jews going to say
what the Messiah finally the Messiah
they've been waiting for all these years
is here this prompt this is a prophecy
the story is a prophecy of a remnant a
very small number of people amidst the
whole world that are going to stand
against the Antichrist or the king was
asking the whole world to bow before its
image I want you to ask yourself today
would you count yourself among the
remnant let's be honest with ourselves
would you say let's say that today the
remnant is liberal thinking and I'm not
talking about like Democratic think I'm
talking about like liberal like
non-spiritual secular thinking let's
just say that that's the idol our views
of marriage our views of holiness our
views of righteousness our views of
gender or whatever it is whatever is if
you are your views would you say that
you are of the remnant the small few
that might get cast into a fire because
of your fame when I was looking at this
I said today I don't know if I'm part of
the remnants
today and there's nothing going on like
there's nothing there's nothing that is
scaring me today and fairfax virginia as
a Christian doing my thing and nothing
is bothering me and I'm still not part
of the rim how about how about in the
end times when when you read the book of
Revelation it's a bit scary when you
think about the things that you know
it's going to be to be able to buy food
you're going to need the mark of the
beast in order to buy food you're gonna
have to go to the grocery store you can
have to show the mark of the beast and
say are you a believer yeah well where's
your mark of the beast I'm not getting
the market appease okay then you can't
buy food but my kids are starving you
can't buy food you say well I don't know
my kids are crying for food what am I
going to do I don't know you know when
we were living in Africa some of the
canyons that were always among us you
always find like people that they were
like became like our family we're like
stealing from us was we went crazy and
and one of the people was like you know
every time we you know work with them
they would steal from us and these
people every time you can't trust them
and I began to think I said what if I
was in their condition I don't have food
I don't have money i don't have income
and my kids are hungry today what am I
going to do I'm going to steal from
those sucker Americans that are just
throwing their money everywhere and
don't know I'm going to do the same
thing I began to say I'm not going to be
any different than these people I'm not
part of the remnants my life is not
reflecting the holiness and the
devoutness of these three whole you that
said we are not going to bow down before
the stat you say no what they had an
amazing faith they said you know what
our God is going to deliver us look at
verse 18 what's the key words can you
turn to yeah okay that's 18 what are the
key words in verse 18 that stick out
I'll read verse 17 then you see 18 on
the screen 17 says if that is the case
our God whom we serve is able to deliver
us from the burning fiery furnace and he
will deliver us from your hand o king
but if not let it be known
yo King that we do not serve your gods
nor will we worship the gold image which
you have said what's the key word in
verse 18 key phrase look at it huh but
if not that to me blows me away it's one
thing to say our God is going to defend
us and our God loves us and our God is
more powerful than you and you stinky
King gonna do anything else because
we're the children of God and we have
promises to us as the people of God that
no one will ever touch us but if not
we're still not bound down for you this
to me is one of the most moving phrases
but if not but if not how many of you
today your faithfulness to God is
condition I believe that God is going to
bust me and God is going to give me a
good job and God is gonna give me a
house and God doesn't give me a spouse
and God is gonna give me their sand God
doesn't give me that and I love the Lord
and the Lord loves me and all these
wonderful things great but if mom if not
it's got still love you you know how
many people tell me where is God and I
don't want to go to church anymore why I
wanted to get married and I couldn't get
married time okay I'm not like I
understand the struggle but is it God's
faulty like God chose maybe that right
now this is not this is not that the
path that you're going to go down how
could God have allowed both of us to
lose our jobs at the same time I don't
know if I can I'm matic on these three
holy you should be saying God if we get
burned one if one hair on our heads get
burnt we have nothing to do with you
this is your chance this is your chance
to glorify your name I read a story of a
pastor who lived in an African village
and the son of the tribal leader got
sick and this son was like starting to
kind of make his way over to the church
and getting to know the pastor
and like getting and all of a sudden the
Sun dies no sorry son gets really really
sick almost a death and the pastor is
like pranks and God I'm sure like like
clearly god this is what you're going to
do I'm gonna pray he is going to be
healed the tribal leader is going to
like let the whole village come to
Christ and they're praying and they're
fasting and they're doing all kinds of
like praises or whatever day after day
after day and all of a sudden you know
he's in his room he says I'm gonna lock
myself in my room I'm to pray to God
because of course this is how the great
revival comes he comes out of his room
summary knocks and says they said pastor
we have news what's the news the boy
died the boy died here up with him like
what do you think what are you thinking
this is like this could have been your
chance cause you care about your people
they're all gonna burn none of them will
come to Christ he was so angry with God
he said like how could you like how
could you stick me as a missionary in
the middle of Africa and there's this
like chance and the boys beginning to
believe and then he gets six and then he
dies what are you thinking so they throw
the funeral and the the pastor ghosts
the funeral and all the congregation
goes they're like crying and they're
saying so many wonderful things and the
tribal leader says you know my son came
to your church and then he got sick and
he died you have to think this is like
tribal Africa my son got sick he came to
your area my son came to your church
then he got sick and then he died and
when I saw how you honored him in his
death I could only imagine how you
honored him in his life and he ended up
because of the way that they showed so
much love to the family during the damn
it was then that the tribal leader
became a believer and the village ended
up coming to Christ but it's not the way
that we think
and so when I think about the if not
what if God doesn't do what you're
expecting God to do but if not do you
have an if not in your in your in your
your walk with Christ yeah like things
are great but if not I'm gonna follow
God the church is wonderful and vibrant
I'm happy to serve here and if not
you're still gonna surf and my you know
company is doing great and I'm going to
give ties to god I'm gonna i missed a
face what you're giving because god is
blessing my business okay what happens
at the business goes sour you're not
giving to God anymore this but if not is
a challenge to each in every one of our
faiths this furnace is also a type it's
a type of death and i read a nice saying
of the father's that it was talking
about this three whole youth in the fire
is representing the love of god it says
those who are in the love of God will be
will be burned sorry will not be burned
but those who are outside of the love of
God those people are the ones that are
going to be experiencing what hell is
like so it's saying that he'll what is
hell hell is being in the love of God
which is the divine love of God enjoying
it not being burned by it what is hell
hell is being on the outside of the love
of God and that's hell if you're
imagining hell to be something and I
don't know what a hell is but let's just
say it you're imagining the fire and the
burning and the screaming and sure it is
but the father's teach us that anything
outside of the love of God the only
three that loves God were we're in the
fire they were in the fire that's read
from verse 19 it says that
Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury and the
expression on his face changed towards
Cedric Meshach and Abednego he spoke and
commanded that they heat the furnace
seven times more than it was usually
heated
and he commanded certain mighty men of
valor who were in his army to bind
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego and cast
him into the Bernie the burning fiery
furnace then these men were bound in
their coats their trousers their turbans
and their other garments and were cast
into the midst of the burning fiery
furnace therefore because the king's
command was urgent and the furnace
exceedingly hot the flame of the fire
killed those men who took up Shadrach
Meshach and Abednego and these three men
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego fell down
bound into the midst of the burning
fiery furnace then King Nebuchadnezzar
was astonished and heroes in haste and
spoke Sanctus counselors did we not cast
three men bound into the midst of the
fire they answered and said to the king
true o king look he answered I see four
men loose walking in the midst of the
fire and they are not hurt and the form
of the fourth is like the son of god
amazing that's continue reading just to
the end so we can continue to explain
the Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth
of the burning fiery furnace and spoke
saying Shadrach Meshach and Abednego
servants of the Most High God come out
and come here then Shadrach Meshach and
Abednego came from the midst of the fire
and the sad traps administrators
governor's in the King's counselors
gathered together and they saw these men
on whose bodies the fire has had no
power the hair of their head was not
synced nor were their garments affected
and the smell of fire was not on them
Nebuchadnezzar spoke saying blessed be
the god of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego
who sent his angel and delivered his
servant who trusted in him and they have
frustrated the King's word and yielded
their bodies that they should not serve
nor worship any God except her own God
therefore I make a decree that any
people nation or language which speaks
anything amiss against the god of
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego shall be
cut in pieces and their houses shall be
made and ash heap because there is no
other God who can deliver like this then
the King promoted Shadrach Meshach and
Abednego in the province of Babylon
alright
it says that they didn't even smell a
fire they were in the fire the people on
the outside that just threw them in were
killed by the fire and it says they went
on the inside of the fire they were not
burned nor did there the only thing that
burned you know or what the ropes that
bound them the fire of God the trials of
God the furnace that the world's that
the God permits us to go through God
allows different sufferings and and
fiery trials to burn these ropes that
bind us maybe you feel bound by some
type of sin some type of temptation you
are tied down by it you are like beat up
by it the fire of God will never burn
you but it will burn the ropes that are
tying the ties that are tying you down
and making you a slave you will be set
free from those when God permits that
sometimes you go through that fire that
fire is a beautiful place for us to be
and we have to trust in the glory of
God's fire and Isaiah it says when you
walk through the fire you shall not be
burned neither shall the flame Kindle
upon you Isaiah 43 verse 2 it burned
away their bonds left them as free men
do you want to be free today are you in
the bondage of anything there's some
type of thing that is controlling you
then maybe understand that if God puts
you in a fire for whatever reason it is
to set you free it is not to Bernie
God's fire does not burn his own it sets
them free it burns the ties that tie us
all
today I want you to ask yourself a few
questions you see God honored these
three men because in the time in the end
I said this is a prophecy of the end
times that the remnant that stays
faithful to God in these difficult times
when the end of times comes upon man the
ones that are standing faithful God will
honor like these three men that they
will be in the fire and that they will
be delivered from the fire symbolizes
death and this is an icon of
resurrection that the fourth is the son
of God that Christ Himself was with them
in the fire I have a I know a person
somewhere in the country they went
through a very very terrible time she
was not to get to me she was kidnapped
and prostituted for for a very very long
time she was like sex traffic she's his
normal girl who was in a graduate school
and she was kidnapped or a all kinds of
terrible things are done to her and and
she was trying to like she was arguing
me she's saying where was God you say
God's my father was he watching me was
my father watching me when I was going
through this difficult miserable like
wicked experience and I began to think
and I was like I said I'm not gonna
answer you now let me pray about I'm
sure God was not just watching like she
said you as a father would you watch
somebody do this to your child and I
realized when I came back and I told her
this is what I believe happens I don't
believe that God was watching I believe
that God was with you in that fire I
believe that as you were being treated
in this way Christ was with you
suffering in the same way with you
because Christ came to bear our
sufferings to be with us in our trials
just like these three men were in the
fire Christ was with them in the fire
today if you have any challenge if you
have any challenge that you're going
through you know the only person that
could see the fourth as the son of man
or the son of god was never could Nasir
he's the only one the sizes do you guys
see what I see they say we see that is
only three says no there's a fourth guy
in there you see the one that was was
was persecuting them was able to see
that there was a fourth with them I
wonder if the world can see in our
tribulations in our trials the force
that is with us if they can see that
Jesus is with me in my fire that it's a
testimony to the whole world though I'm
in the fire I'm dancing in the fire and
Jesus is with me in the fire believe me
there is no sweeter thing than to find
that you are in a fire and not that
Jesus is on the outside looking while
you're going through this miserable time
know that Jesus is with you in the fire
and I pray we should pray that the world
would see that when we go through the
fire when we go through this difficult
time the people would see our God with
us in the fire and see that God gave us
victory over the fire just like the
resurrection is represents death the
death do anything to them they were able
to overcome them that even the flames of
death were not able to do anything to
them I prayed it we would be able to say
just like say nothin su said the world
is against me like these three young men
he says what I am against the world I
will not I might be the only one maybe
you are the only one among your group of
friends among your generation in your
family in your workplace in your home
you are the only one that is walking
down the path of worshipping the only
true God in spirit and in truth and it
seems as though for my faith I'm going
to be thrown in the fire do not
Berlant do not do not give in do not
just give up and say okay this is this
is clearly it's not God's will for me to
be you know against everybody st.
Athanasius was able to save the
Christian faith by his faith I was
listening one time on Christian radio
and they were talking about there's this
man named athanasius and he was in the
fourth century and some people say that
if it wasn't for our nation's we
wouldn't have had Christianity today I
was thinking okay then go listen to his
teachings you know they even confess all
over the christian world that if it
wasn't for ethanol oozes faith saying
the world is against me and i am against
the world that maybe there would be no
christian because everybody was
following Arianism but there was one man
one the remnant are you willing to be
the remnant for God's are you willing to
be set apart says I will not bow down
before whatever the world is throwing at
me even though everyone else is bound I
pray that we would be counted among
these three we would find that the
fourth is the son of God is with us in
the fire glory be to god forever
